This sculpture is called “social distancing”, and is my take on COVID and the isolation it has brought. I created it as a satire of current life, as it asks the question how far is far enough to be safe? I especially like how the sculpture kind of disappears from the back and just looks like a pile of leaves, adding to its isolation and hidden nature. On the other hand, there is a certain serenity to the piece and to being alone, which shows how some good can come out of the pandemic, which for me was in the form of pursuing my hobbies.
