Selecting an artist for the Art Report and Artist Presentation

Sources for finding an artist:

Please select an artist that is featured in one of the books Professor Meiser has put on reserve at Bertrand Library *OR* Sculpture Magazine.

Books on reserve:  Go to the main circulation desk at Bertrand Library and tell the worker on duty that you’re a student in Sculpture 1 (ARST 150).  If you’re really nice the worker will probably let you go behind the counter and choose one of the reserved books from the shelf.  Otherwise, you can choose a book from this list and make a specific request at the counter.

Sculpture magazine is available on Level 2 in Bertrand Library.  See this map for the precise location.

Requirements:

The artist you select should come from one of the sources listed above.

The artist should be contemporary (still living).

The artist should work primarily in a three-dimensional medium such as sculpture, kinetic art, installation, etc.

Please choose an artist who you are not yet familiar with.

Once you have made your selection, email the artist’s name to EVERYONE in the class, CCing the professor—each student should choose a different artist and selections will be made on a first-come-first-serve basis.
