Throughout my life basketball has been a key part of shaping who I am. I specifically remember one tournament game where I experienced just about every emotion. With around 8 seconds left in the game my team is down 5, I get the ball and hit a three, which gets me feeling pumped. The other team passes the ball, and I steal it and pass it to my teammate, but he misses and the time expires. I remember feeling so defeated because we got so close but still lost. I started walking to my bench only to see my teammates cheering and smiling. At first I was angry because my teammates were happy and cheering right after we just lost a really close game. This anger turned to confusion because I knew my teammates would not be acting like this after a loss. I was so confused that I looked at the scoreboard only to be surprised at a tied scoreboard. When I thought we were down by five points we were actually only down by three points. We were heading into overtime with so much energy and excitement. We ended up dominating in overtime where there was no doubt who was winning the game.
