If consciousness is said to be the subjective experience of a lifeform then all animals not considered docile should hold consciousness. A species doesn’t have to have the same brain structure as another to meet those predetermined requirements of consciousness and they do not have to explain their way of thinking in order for that consciousness to be true. Yet, humans will fight that narrative until they deem they have enough evidence to suggest otherwise.
